Slow The Hell Down! |
| Aug 14 2010 13:27:00 |
So much traffic lately, and so many drivers displaying a total f**k you attitude towards speed limits within the park.
Old people, young people, new residents, old residents, men, women, all acting terribly childish and irresponsible... maybe even criminally negligent.
You know who you are.
You're the heavy footed balding idiot in the siver pickup with the propane tank in the back, the large woman in the red van who blasts through here without slowing down for speed bumps and without any concern for life or rules and who only slows down when someone is watching her stupidity. It's the guy in the tan jeepster, the little red imports, the 7am commuters, the 5pm commuters, the ugly drunks who complain loudly whenever someone tries to do anything to bring order to this chaos....
What the hell is wrong with you people?
Does life really mean that little to you? Are you really that oblivious to the rights of others? To their right to life?
Will you continue until you kill someone and then just say "Oops..., sorry about that, I'm sure my insurance will cover it."?
There is a reason for the speed limits here and on every road in the country. These limits are judged to be the maximum safe speeds to avoid causing an accident or taking someone's life. These limits allow you time to slow down or stop in case of neccesity.
So what makes all of you ignorant pricks so special that you can ignore these limits?
I know some of you think it's a game, that if you slow down only when someone is looking, it makes the rest of your idiocy ok.
It's NOT a game.
Death and disfigurement are permanent, no amount of insurance can make up for a lost life, and there's no excuse for driving in a manner that puts other people's life or health at risk.
The park manager may be complacent about this, the RCMP and lawmakers may be complacent about this, many residents are apparently very complacent about this.... or too oblivious to notice... or some even quite willing to lie about the extent of the problem...
The mother of a dead child or the child of a dead mother may not be so forgiving of your careless stupidity or lack of attention.
Slow the hell down you ignorant morons before you hurt someone! |

Cat Notice Clarification |
| Jul 07 2010 15:54:00 |
Most residents probably received the "Cat Notice" a week or 2 ago.
Although that notice bears the past logo of the Langley Grove Estates Community website, the notice was not distributed by this website!
Click here to view Original Website Screenshot
Since all ties between Parkbridge Lifestyle Communities, Inc, Langley Grove Estates management, and this community website have been severed, the logo should not be appearing on any documents produced by the management or owners of Langley Grove Estates.
Although we do endorse the intent of that notice, the use of our logo was not approved.
On another note, if you read that notice carefully, you'll see a rather interesting statement from management regarding the enforcement of Park Rules.
"Enforcement of the Community Rules has been left to the community"
This is NOT a Strata Property! Enforcement of the Park rules may never be left to the renters in this community.
Management of any rental property is wholey responsible for the enforcement of any and all rules. Period.
In other words, both the property owners and management of Langley Grove Estates have been neglectful of their responsibilities in operating this rental property and have made false claims in the documentation provided on their own website(s). Particularly in the lease description pdf's where they claim that residents never have to deal with community problems because their "world class management" is always there to handle any problems and enforce all rules.
Given this admission that management has not fullfilled their responsibilities to those paying rent here, I'm pretty sure this opens the door to legal recourse for anyone who has suffered an intolerable situation here as a result.

Scavenger Hunts |
| Jul 04 2010 21:25:00 |
I'm sure our local block watch members are still scratching their heads and shrugging their shoulders over the theft of several unusual items here last summer and early fall. Without a lot of effort, it was actually quite simple to find out the motive behind at least some of those items being taken. Since the community is not gated and access is not controlled in any way, Langley Grove Estates is a perfect target for such things as scavenger hunts and road rallys. While researching other topics last year, I came across several public email discussions from these groups that Google had cached. Many news and discussion groups allow Google to access ongoing email discussions. In most cases these discussions only remain available while the discussion is active and then are removed or archived shortly afterwards. Parts of the discussion may remain active in Google's cache for several weeks or even several years. In this case, the cached part of the scavenger hunt discussion was only available for a few days once I discovered it. The address and directions to Langley Grove Estates were there, along with dates but no specific times and no mention of what the targets would be. Since it was mainly small lawn ornaments and landscaping items that were taken, the theme seems obvious. Well, it's that time of year again and although I haven't come across any mention in any discussion groups yet, that doesn't mean the community won't soon become a target of this silliness again. Keep your eyes open and don't be afraid to explore the internet using advanced search techniques if you want real answers.
